Dr. Paul Petrungaro is a board-certified periodontist and one of the most experienced implant surgeons recognized globally for his pioneering work in regenerative and implant dentistry, a graduate of Loyola University School of Dentistry, and the first and only graduate of the University of California at San Francisco with a joint certificate in Periodontology and Oral/Maxillofacial Surgery. This dual training provides him with a unique perspective in comprehensive surgical implant care.
He also completed an Externship at the Brånemark Osseointegration Implant Research and Education Center at the Sahlgrenska Dental School in Gothenburg, Sweden, learning directly from its founder and one of the creators of implant dentistry.
Dr. Petrungaro is internationally acclaimed for his pioneering work in regeneration, bone grafting, and advanced surgical implant interdisciplinary team approaches and advanced mini-implant removable overdentures and the care of geriatric hospice and impaired frail adult and elderly patients. He is a Clinical Professor with over 104 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters and has pioneered innovative surgical techniques utilizing tissue engineering and emerging stem cell technologies.
As a practicing integrator of zygomatic implants for aesthetic bone treatment in an office site, not just surgical yet not implanted on an external face and temporally secured from loosening and biologically driven implant dentistry.
